French Football Star Kylian Mbappé’s X (formerly Twitter) Account Allegedly Hacked
Kylian Mbappé’s X (formerly Twitter) account was reportedly hacked on Thursday. The hacker launched a token under the name $MBAPPE and promoted it through the footballer’s account, causing its market cap to reach millions within minutes.
Mbappé, who recently joined Real Madrid CF, has a large following of 14.4 million users on X. This latest hacking incident continues the recent trend of targeting celebrities to promote crypto pump-and-dump scams. The French football star’s X account was compromised, after which the hacker posted a contract for a crypto coin they had just launched on pump.fun. The hacker soon sold the entire supply of the meme coin, driving its value to zero. However, the post used to deceive users has since been deleted.

According to data shared by Lookonchain, an unfortunate user created a new wallet to take advantage of the opportunity to acquire the $MBAPPE token, unaware of the potential scam, and lost millions of dollars. The user reportedly spent 7,156 Solana (approximately $1.03 million) in a single transaction to purchase the meme coin and suffered a $1 million loss in just one hour, as the purchased holdings are now worth only about $9.2k.
It was further reported that another crypto trader hit the jackpot. Allegedly, they spent just 0.2 Solana (worth about $29) to buy $MBAPPE and sold it only 3 minutes later for 866.14 SOL (worth approximately $125.16K). This deal resulted in a massive 4,330x profit.
The trader had traded 251 meme coins in the past month, where they had invested only 0.1 SOL or more. They have a win rate of 35.46% with a total profit of $126.7K.
Wu Blockchain reported that another user bought a scam meme coin for 2 SOL (worth approximately $286) and sold it at a peak for a profit of nearly 1,398 SOL (worth approximately $200K).
